On each episode, hosts Arielle Nissenblatt and Tim Villegas hit 'play' on a podcast trailer and welcome the podcast creator of that trailer to analyze the format and length of the trailer, as well as the podcast focus and audio quality.

Season 2

The Objective

I was hired by podcast hosts, Arielle and Tim, to review 250+ podcast trailer submissions and pitch 10-15 trailers to be featured in the second season of Trailer Park.

They envisioned considering bonus episodes and also podcasts that coincide with important holidays.

Resources & Stratetgy

The submissions were compiled in an Excel file after being exported from an online submission form.

I reviewed each submission by first focusing on reading all of the podcast descriptions.

The process of elimination comprised of:

  • Highlighting all of the strong pitches that piqued my interest,

  • Deprioritizing inaccessible trailer links, and

  • Deprioritizing incomplete submissions.

I aimed to offer diverse podcasts that varied in:

  • Format

  • Topic

  • Length

  • Creativity

  • Perspective

I prioritized podcasts that were:

  • Creative

  • Polished

  • Entertaining

  • Informative & Researched

  • Inspirational

I compiled a list of 15-20 trailers in a pitch document to present to Arielle and Tim.
